Dom Deluise passed away last night at age 75. He died peacefully in his sleep.

First Natasha Richardson, then Bea Arthur and now Dom DeLuise.

I feel like I should watch "All Dogs Go to Heaven" now.

Lent was over on Monday.

President Obama just drove by. I got the entire thing on video and will be uploading shortly. VIDEO UPLOADED!!

The entire thing was about 20 minutes long of waiting and they shut down the ENTIRE street. From one end to the other.

Everyone was late to work. Seriously, it was epically exciting. I've never been able to be on the street when a figurehead drove by. This is my first. I'm not a fangirl but, damn! You could feel the excitement in the air.

Natasha Richardson has died.

President Obama's motorcade is driving by my office today and tomorrow. The streets have been closed off for his protection.

We've already made arrangements to have ourselves barricaded inside the office for a half hour later than usual tonight. Streets are closed off tomorrow from 8 am - 10 am.

I have the sneaking suspicion everyone will be running mad late tomorrow.

In other news, did anybody else see Neil Gaiman and Stephen Colbert on Monday night??? It was AWESOME.

So, I saw Watchmen last night. I don't know how may of you are already familiar with the comics or if you think it'll just be a kick-ass film. Well, get ready to get excited bitches!

Am going to press showing of "Watchmen" on Tuesday. I am ridiculously happy about this. I have even done the happy nerd! dance of joy.

Am almost done with rewatch of SG-1. Just started on Season 8, which is where I've always managed to stop because I get bored and need something else. AM determined to get all the way through.

Next will either be Buffy or Angel rewatch.

TODAY was amazing from a financial standpoint. I got paid and got my tax refund all at the same time. GO ME!

So here's the moment that all of us have been waiting for. The glitz! The glamour! The egos! The crushed hopes and dreams of overpaid whiney people who need gratification that they haven't wasted their lives. No, it's not an open call for American Idol, and no, it's not the meet and greet of the sorority houses with prospective freshmen. It's the OSCARS!!!!!!!

In the spirit of such frivolities, and because I wanna see what you guys, my beloved flist, think, I'm going to put up my predictions and who I REALLY think should win. Because, let's face it, the Oscars are political as all hell. For example? Denzel Washington SHOULD have won for his role in "The Hurricane" but lost and the following year, was given the Oscar for "Training Day". Bzuh??? Or, and this is my personal fave, Judi Dench was nominated for "Mrs. Brown" and SHOULD have won, however she lost and received the Oscar the following year for her 8-minute role in "Shakespeare in Love".

So, instead of being a respectable adult in the business of show, I'm not going to do anything FANTASTICAL for the Oscars this year. Instead, I'm planning an adventure of being on my couch, in some very comfy pajama's and possibly having a beer. All the while calling my bookie to make sure I don't owe him my left kidney.

Today, I'm spending a day re-watching the Harry Potter movies, as I haven't seen them in quite awhile. I think it's a lot to do with the new "Half Blood Prince" trailer that was just released. I miss this fandom. *tear*

All is well on the home front. Work is managing to survive despite the economic suckage. So, all are happy about that.
